Awqaf General Trust calls Muslims to build mosques in different residential areas and to assign waqfs to help mosques carry out its mission as well as maintaining them and paying for their staff.
The Trust utilizes Waqf funds to care for mosques as follows:
1- Building and maintaining mosques.
2- Providing mosques with books, religious references to boost its role in Islam call in the society.
3- Providing suitable care for mosque staff whether being Imams, Muezzin (announcer of the hour of prayer) and solving their problems.
Waqf Payments for serving Holy Quran and religious teachings The Trust works for serving the Glorious Quran and its teachings by:
1- Setting up centres for memorizing the Holy Quran.
2- Printing the Holy Quran.
3- Spreading correct concepts based on the Holy Book and Sunnah.
4- Printing books and Islamic call leaflets.
5- Transcribing and printing manuscripts related to Quranic researches.
6- Providing students of Quranic centres with financial assistance and honouring excellent ones.
7- Providing researchers in Quranic teachings with references necessary and incentives.
Waqf payment for the Elderly
The revenues of this waqf is allocated for supporting elderly homes in the United Arab Emirates by providing them with financial and tangible aid.
Waqf payment for newly converted Muslim care
As calling non-Muslims to Islam is a great Islamic duty for all Muslims, each according to his capability. As UAE society has many non-Muslims who have passive impact on the society's way of life and due to the incapacity of many Muslims to carry out their duties as to Islamic call for their weak language skills, Awqaf General Trust mapped out a future policy and issued leaflets calling people to Islam in different languages.
1- Printing leaflets and booklets in different languages.
2- Allocating scholars of different nationality to call for Islam inside their communities.
3- Caring and assisting new Muslims and providing them with necessary books and tapes.
4- Teaching new Muslims Arabic Language and recruit them for their ability to serve Islamic causes.
Waqf payment for handicapped care
It is no secret that the UAE society has many categories in need of aid such as those suffering from different disabilities whether being physical or psychological due to the loss of the sustainer or family problems, etc.
Out of our believe in our duty toward our handicapped brothers and to abide by Allah the Almighty's instruction " and do good that you may be successful. " and the prophet (PBUH) saying "Whoever bails an insolvent out, Allah shall bail him out in this life and the day after". (Narrated by Ibn Magah" and the prophet saying "Whoever meets his brother's needs, Allah shall meet his needs" (Narrated by Moslem).
It is the duty of us as Muslims, both individuals and groups, to meet the needs and support this category to carry out its role in building and developing the society. Relinquishing such people and leaving them facing their inabilities would undermine the principle stipulated in Allah's order " ". Thus Awqaf General Trust found it important to care for such people and to help meet their requirements. The following procedures were taken:
1- Contributing to psychological and health rehabilitation through cultural, educational and health services as well as psychological therapy.
2- Helping in providing medical substitution machines and equipment.
3- Helping in setting up houses for their care and shelter.
Waqf payment to serve pilgrims
The Islamic nation, since the Prophet (Peace be upon him) has revealed the religion of God, is trying hard to prevail the rituals of Islam in earth. One of the greatest rituals is pilgrimage to Kaaba by those of means.
So, Awqaf General Trust sought to boost and support such kind of rituals with all means to serve pilgrims, clear obstacles that might face them and provide with aid necessary to easily perform hajj.
Waqf payment for other charitable venues:
Out of Awqaf General Trust’s keenness on serving Islam and Muslim for boosting charitable drive, it hardly sought to beef up, develop and invest in its Waqf assets. The Trust utilizes Waqf charitable fund in favour of projects under progress.
Waqf payment to care for the poor:
Islam highly cared for the poor. It calls for alms, charitable works, aid for low-incomed categories using all potentialities available. Out of our duty towards this category, Awqaf General Trust played tremendous efforts in this field. It allocated special payment for this category. It is doing its best to meet their needs whether being material or social as instructed by Allah: “Help you one another in Al-Birr and At-Taqwa (virtue, righteousness and piety)”.
Waqf payment for orphans:
Out of the Prophet’s (PBUH) saying: “The orphan’s sustainer and I are in paradise close like that (he pointed by his forefinger and middle finger).” Awqaf General Trust allocated special separate Waqf for this category with its revenues paid for sustaining them in all fields.
