Awqaf General Trust has distributed 30 thousand Iftar meals during the holy month of Ramadan. Awqaf General Trust wrapped up its seasonal project of offering Iftar meals financed from waqfs supervised by the trust with the participation of some benevolent people who donated Iftar meals as a show of solidarity with the sons of the Islamic community. The number of those who had Iftar in the Ramadan banquet tents reached 30 thousand during the holy month.
The Iftar project this year was set up in three different sites in Sharjah: Ebeid bin Essa mosque in Meriga, Suhail bin Haneef Mosque in the Industrial zone as well as Scouts Commission mosque in Sharjah. The project was designed to provide about 1000 Muslims with Iftar every day. The project attracted hundreds of Muslims observing the holy month who amassed at the centres for collective Iftar, said Hassan Abdel Rahman Saeb, manager of Waqf property and spending management.
He pointed out that the Trust has picked up for serving the Iftar banquets restaurants well known of the high quality of their meals. The organizing committee of this activity is closely following up the performance of these restaurants in terms of timing and quality of meals offered to those served by the Iftar banquet through observers entrusted with serving the participants at the Iftar. The project has turned into a remarkable chapter of the Trust’s charity and humanitarian record.
